Ron Soto
Ron Soto represents the second generation of the Soto family legacy and has guided Soto’s Optical Boutique since 1975. With over 50 years in the optical industry, the boutique has grown under his leadership into Sarasota’s most awarded optical store while remaining deeply rooted in the values on which it was founded in 1949.
As a teenager, Ron would come into the shop after school to assist his father, learning the trade firsthand by observing, helping, and gradually mastering every aspect of the profession. He completed a rigorous four-year apprenticeship, building a foundation rooted in traditional craftsmanship, precision, and hands-on experience.
Ron is both a master and board-certified optician and has devoted more than five decades to the craft. He personally cuts and edges the lenses for each pair of frames. He often laughs and refers to his approach as “old school,” but it reflects how personal his work truly is and how deeply he values doing things the right way.
Known for his passion, generosity with knowledge, and genuine love for the craft, Ron enjoys educating those around him and sharing his experience with both clients and staff. His professionalism is matched by his warmth and great sense of humor, qualities that have helped build lasting relationships across generations.

Mahsa Zolghadr, ABOC, NCLEC
Mahsa Zolghadr began her career in the optical industry in 2004, immediately after high school, driven by a deep interest in vision care and patient connection. She is a European-trained Refracting and Manager Optician, formally educated in the Netherlands through a rigorous four-year professional program.
Her education qualified her to perform refraction and oversee all aspects of optical practice operations, and she formerly served as an Optical Manager. This training provided a strong foundation in European optical standards, precision, and patient-centered care.
After relocating to the United States in 2012, Mahsa completed the required national certification and became fully licensed and board certified in the state of Florida. She has been an integral part of Soto’s Optical Boutique since 2013.
Her dedication, expertise, and commitment to the client experience led Ron Soto to invite her into partnership in December of 2017, marking an important chapter in the continued growth of the family-owned business.
Known for her warmth and genuine approach, Mahsa is deeply passionate about her work. She values the relationships built with clients and believes eyewear should not only help people see clearly, but feel confident and cared for. For Mahsa, Opticianry is more than a profession — it is a meaningful connection between vision, comfort, and trust.

Yalitzaly Torres
Yalitzaly Torres joined Soto’s Optical Boutique in December of 2021 and has since grown into an integral part of the Soto family business. Through dedication, care, and a strong work ethic, she has developed a well‑rounded role supporting both clients and daily optical operations.
Yalitzaly is involved in all aspects of the optical process, including order management, customer care, lab support, and eyewear styling. She is currently working toward licensure in the state of Florida, further strengthening her professional growth within the practice.
Prior to joining Soto’s Optical, Yalitzaly worked in the medical field in administrative and hospital settings, where she guided patients through the surgical process. This background has shaped her calm, attentive approach and deep understanding of patient care. She brings that same compassion and professionalism to every client interaction, helping ensure a welcoming and supportive experience at Soto’s.
